Can anyone point me in the direction of a second hand engine - mine is making some terminal sounding noises and the AA mechanics diagnosis was your engines knackered! Rarther than start stripping and looking for parts in thinking it might be easier to replace the full thing? :-(

Sorry to hear about your car and you've had no no replies.
Hopefully you had had it looked at properly by now. The AA are ok for picking you up and getting you home but are by no means fully trained mechanics.

That's really bad, they could of at least took you all home, If you decide to fix I can send you info on the place that has the engine

I left AA many years ago after 2 experiences of v poor service. Am now with ETA and no problem so far. Sorry that doesn't solve your engine problem though.

They were only willing to take me if I paid £248 up front - the local recovery company did it for £100. She s booked into the local garage later in the week for them to have a look :)

I take it you weren't already a member when you called them? Or didn't have relay entitlement? You have to pay through the nose if that's the case.

Bought my insurance through them with"free cover" not realising there was no relay on it so pretty pointless - if I hadn't paid upfront it would be cancelled.

Anyhow she s fixed now 3 plugs had disintegrated and went into the engine :/

    Hello SarahB,

I did not understand your last post : engine is OK now
You said 3 disintegrated plugs went into engine... but, as far I understand, engine is broken with that
Is it true ? I am very sorry for you if true :-((
What is the reason for, do you know ?
I have the same engine as yours, and I hope I can prevent such a failure
Hope you can use your car for a long time...
Hello to everybody on Copenworld :)

Yes 3 plugs disintegrated :-(. Will post a picture when im on a computer. Ensure frequent servicing and Im sure yours will be fine :). I have no service history on paper so unfortunately can not complain :-(. I have emailed Bosch who made them but have not received a reply :-(
