After only a few months after getting hold of my first Copen - a 1.3 - I'm now thinking about completing the 'set' by buying a 659 as well; apart from anything else, my kids can use them. I've seen the very helpful buying guide and other postings about what to look for with 659s, but never having driven one, I'm not sure how differently the two models drive. Reading various threads, it seems that there are two distinct camps within the Copen fan club! I'd much appreciate any descriptions as to how the two models drive differently, if only to get some idea of how a 659 should 'go' on a test run.
The 660 requires more maintenance, the turbo gives out easily if neglected (oil changes etc.), it has less power, but it sounds differently and revs very high. If you like the characteristics of turbo engines you might give it a try. Maybe have a test drive?
Turbo engine makes me smile, it's the wife's car, I've got an X3 3.0d right now (monster in sheeps clothing) had coupe before, Alpha Brera s, Seat Cupra r and such things as Escort RS Turbo in the 80s but this little engine is just nuts love its revs and whistle, just feed it lots of oil.
I like the linear power output of naturally aspirated or supercharged engines a lot better on the other hand...would not buy a turbo copen
