Following on from Toyota's worldwide recall of over 8 million cars due to safety concerns, Daihatsu has today announced that it is to recall 60,774 cars due to wiring problems that could trigger airbags to inflate accidentally. The Daihatsu recall is said to apply to "four minicar models" manufactured between December 1998 and April 2000, which would appear to eliminate the Copen at this stage, which was introduced in 2002. Nissan and Suzuki have also issued recalls for different faults.
Am I right in thinking that the copen has not changed that much since 2002? Apart from the engine that is. I last owned a car in 1984. Between times I`ve been on bicycles and motorcycles so there has been quite a teck jump for me. If there were problems with the Copen they should have been ironed out by now. Regards, Sardine.
