    Hi All

I just today bought a Copen 1298. Amazing car!
Could you advise what the most common issues are in your experience. Thing I should look out for when I spend time in the garage going over it with a tooth comb.

    Cheers Mark

Check the battery is in good condition or even replace it. I had repeated random multiple misfire but a new battery solved the problem

I think it's recently been changed but I will check it. Thanks

    Welcome!
Can confirm battery, its only 35Ah (weak as)
Rust is an issue, it can be found virtually anywhere (except bonnet, roof and boot lid), but it's mostly well hidden (boot floor under the carpet, undercarriage etc.)

The engine will not cause much trouble if you give it some maintenance every now and then (5w30 or 0w40 are recommended, spark plugs NGK or Denso)

    Pretty reliable :D

It's had an advisory for the front discs so that on my agenda to sort out soon
There is rust on the bonnet but nowhere else I've seen. Yet!
Engine seems good too so far
Some crud under arches but I don't think it's gone through yet so that's to be cleaned checked and proofed too
Might look to see if I can put a better battery on before winter

Its not rust on the bonnet, its aluminum corrosion, probably caused by a bad paintjob or stone chips
German made ATE discs are factory painted and rust less, I do recommend them. Still there is a chance the inner side of the disc will rust because breaking pressure is not strong enough to remove the light surface rust which occurs naturally

Mmmm. Any idea how easy it is to get a new bonnet? just an Idea. I'm guessing Aluminium is not tat easy to repair due to low melt temperatures and stretching potential.
