Daihatsu has announced that production of the Copen will cease in August 2012. Originally unveiled as a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1999, the car went into production in 2002, with around 56,000 made to date. The occasion will be marked with the release of 500 white 10th Anniversary Limited Edition models, to be available in Japan only. With no plans for a replacement, it ends a remarkable 10 year run for this amazing little car, which will surely become a future classic.
