Hi all, I'm from Belgium. Was looking for a nice weather car, initially for an oldtimer but decided to give the Copen a try. Till now no regrets It's a silver 2004 with red leather interior. Bought with 38447 miles, are now already 39883 due to a vacation trip to Germany last week. Copen is in a pretty good condition, except some upcoming rust on the engine hood and some dents in the boot lid. Had some engine problems but it seems fixed now, new spark plugs. I treated her already with some new wheels. Originals are curbed with bubbling paint. Last photo is from vacation, the white one is not mine
Hi and welcome to copenworld I hope you will have a lot of fun with your copen! What kind of wheels are on there? They look a little bit like old Lamborghini wheels. A little quick tip I give every newcomer: Oil changes every 5000km or half year, its important
Wheels are from a Mini (style 81) Thanks for the warning, the half year interval can be longer? She will only leave the garage with nice weather, max 5000km a year.
engine hood is aluminum, often blows out a little bit at the edges .. factory faultys. oel interval can be longer , if you dont use it every day and for racing , but right oel inverted 5w30 or better 5w40.. doesnt need 0w or else.. but after 5000 km better change it..i always change filter to..cost filter so 2,50 euro.. i use cheap oel Total 5W-40 Quartz 9000 Energy from info@motoroel100.de and my tiny copen has hks loader and etc. this car is use for driving..not for stay in garage..
Better only once a year than never, but still, do not leave the oil in for too long. Many turbochargers have died because the owners did not maintain their car As Kai (welz) said, 5W30 or 5W40 is OK to use. Because you are in Belgium, you can get Mercedes Benz 229.5 certified oil, which is perfect for Copen. The wheels are nice, I would like them in white on my car
