Good luck with your sale but I can’t help noticing that these cars are relatively expensive in Oz. Is there a special import duty on Japanese cars or imported cars in general ?

Because the original Copens were sold in OZ they can't be imported with a few exceptions.
The price is more due to supply and demand there weren't many sold here.

I was once told there was only ever 142 of them made it to our shores. I used to see a couple of other Copens around and about but they have disappeared now...

I imported mine to the UK, a one-lady owner in mint condition from Perth. Costly but well worth it. No rust. Only needed to fit the rear fog light and under body seal. Now I have a car in very fine condition.
