Hi. My cooler cap blows up on highway yesterday evening. i have order a new one, but I would like to have a photo in case of lost part. can someone do a photo of his cap? you can see the found pieces below. is there a spring or small piece in the middle at the cap? Don´t hope some pieces was suck into the waterpump.
@welz From memory, there’s usually a pretty big spring under the cap. I wouldn’t worry about it getting into the water pump as it would have to pass through the radiator core which is pretty narrow gauge. Most likely, when everything let go it just bounced out of the engine bay. I’d be more concerned about how the pressure got so high in the first place. Might be worth a radiator flush if you haven’t had it done in a while and the swap the thermostat.
Hi Kai, ich hab hier noch eine Originale rumliegen, es fehlt bei dir anscheinend das Mittelstück. Federn tut das Ding auch, wenn man es runterdrückt, es müsste sich eine Spiralfeder o.ä. darin befinden.
Thank you very much for the photos. now I´m waiting for the new cap. Whats ever , just strange where the missing part remained. Kai
Problem solved, nothing found in waterpump. Checked it with usb camera. New cooler cap and the water temperature goes only up to 100 degrees, then the fan goes on. Temperature then drops to 95 degrees. everything passed.
