I have already started the anti rust strategy on the Copen. Its like peeling an onion the more you look and dig the more rust you find. I was thinking if I am going to do it, do it well. I was wondering if anyone knew the answers to these questions please? 1. I noticed under the sill adjacent to the front wheels a square hole (I used it to inject cavity wax), is this meant to be sealed by a rubber grommet or is it a drainage hole? 2. Any tips on how to remove these rusty bolts which hold the back bumper (I haven't attempted this yet) and should I replace them when I do remove them? Just spray WD40 on them? What is the size of these bolts please if I do need to order some new ones? Appreciate your help - Thanks
1. there should be round plastic grommets on there. Are they all gone on your Vehicle? 2. Penetrating oil should help - you can use WD40, but there are others with way better strength. An impact wrench is good for these jobs, but not everybody has one. Be careful not to break anything
WD40 is fine for the bolts. I imagine their size is 10mm... most bolts in the Copen / Jap cars are 10mm
