Hi all, I just bought a Copen today and have been beaming from ear to ear all day. imply face hurts. Was a bit of an impulse purchase, and am somewhat fretful about finding a garage that can service it, parts etc. if anyone knows of a good place in Birmingham, please let me know. Many thanks
Hi Sally, Welcome to Copenworld & congratulations on your impulse buy. Which version have you bought, 1.3 or 659 Turbo? Neither really require specialist mechanics. If you have the turbo model the only issue is changing the oil filter. There is plenty of information on this forum to help educate your chosen mechanic though. Try on this site to find a good gasrasge near you: http://www.goodgaragescheme.com
Thanks for the welcome I got me a 659 turbo, and since I am a girl I will mention the colour it is black with red seats, 2004, only a smidgen of rust, 26k miles. Pleased as punch. The little engine appears to be a work of genius, I was expecting the performance of a lawnmower, but it is more reminiscent of a grown up go cart, with minimal fuel consumption I have had to insure my entire family on it to keep the peace. Still grinning
I imagine the rust is on the rear arches? that will only get worse and at an accelerated rate, at least whats visible as there is possibly more no showing through yet.
Rust Nope, not yet, just a little on the drivers side sill. I will get it seen to in the autumn, and the rest of it treated, then I will garage it over winter, my dad has one going spare. I read up on the buyers guide somewhere in this forum before buying to make sure I didn't make a massive mistake. I was lucky knowing the lady who I bought it from, so it has been cosily garaged for most of its life. First job new tyres, it appears to have never had a new set and the fronts are painfully bald. It took a bit of searching, but I have found a local garage that can get some in for me I need to get some kind of kit in case I have a puncture. Off to google that now.
You should have a compressor in the boot which came with some tyre weld stuff, but it will be out of date by now. So you just need to buy a new can of tyreweld from Halfords.
