    Hi everyone,

I tried to open the boot on my Copen last night using the fob, and although it popped open initially, it was still held by the lock mechanism somehow and I couldn't lift it up. I then pushed the boot release button in the centre console, and then it did pop open fully so that I could lift it.

However, when I came to close the boot, it would not latch and was not pulled close electronically as it usually is. The only way I could get it to fully seal was by disconnecting/reconnecting the battery; that seemed to reset everything and pull the boot closed.

I then tried a second time - same thing happened!

Anyone else had this? The main issue seems to stem from the boot lock latch not initially releasing the boot lid properly.

    Thanks for any help/advice. :)

Make sure your battery is fully charged. It should be at around 12.4 volts. I had an issue with lack of use last year so disconnected the battery when I was away recently. It seems to take a full charge for the relevant ECUs to play nicely.

Try it with the engine running, and as BarnsleyRob said, check the battery with a multimeter after the car has sat for a few hours

Absolutely right guys, battery it was. Even though it was new about 2 months ago. I need to drive it more! :)
