Good afternoon, my wifes pride and joy has decided to play up during the few weeks that a convertible makes sense in our sceptered isle.
When I closed the boot (after making sure it was safe to open the roof) it did not make the noise and pull the front down. To open it I have to pull the cable and the blue tabs. I have disconnected the battery for a reset and it worked once. Now we are back to square one.
Could someone post a close up picture of the latch mechanism on the hinge with the boot open please as I am not sure if the white plastic slider should be at the front or the rear of its channel when the boot has opened normally.
    Thanks in advance .

    I hope this helps.

If you need a different angle, just say the word and I'll make it happen.

    Thanks for the speedy response.
If you can see the white plastic slider and the latch I need more of a close up of that particular area. Thank you.

    The pictures are great thanks.
I will get down to the workshop tomorrow, I believe that it has lost its position and these are the key.

Well I have reached the point of don't break it further. The most local ex Daihatsu dealer will be having a look on Thursday.
I did the bridge it out and the blink code was showing 24 which is boot switch. I could not clear the code though .

The diagnosis is the lower, latch motor has been damaged by water and now the boot doesnt know its position so will not operate.
The parts come to £300 odd and have to come from Japan.
    Watch this space .

I’d be tempted to look for a replacement on eBay. There haven’t been too many, if any, mentions of failed motors on the forum before so you should find a cheaper alternative.
