Anyone got a spare bonnet stay clip?
It's the little white clip that's on the left hand side of the car, under the bonnet. It's what the bonnet stay (the black metal bar that holds the bonnet open) is clipped into.
Mine broke & the dealer wants £10.71 plus vat for it!

    Hi Adam,
    The answer is quite easy.
go to a local hardware shop & ask for a 6mm spring clip.
cut off with a stanley knife what is left of the clip flush with its insert as you do this you will see a + on the insert.
drill a small hole in the center of the + to suit the screw of the spring clip (a small nail in an electric drill is best for this & costs almost nothing).
screw spring clip in & adjust angle to suit stay.
job done & cost is about 20p.

I just bought one from Daihatsu in the end. Wanted it to be original.

After I replied to your message Adam, I noticed that the post was back in 2012. :)
Well as you know, I travel to Tokyo regularly so any parts I have are all genuine from Daihatsu dealer. :)
