Some of you may remember a few posts about my 1.3 Copen, problem with boot, fitting rear view camera etc. Well I've only just been able to start driving it for various unconnected reasons.
What a brilliant little car. I've had a couple of Daihatsus before (Sirion and Coure) but this is the best. Plenty of go - especially if you run it up to around six thousand.
    Just a question:
The rear suspension seems somewhat overdamped being very bumpy on less smooth roads. The car is an '09 with only 30 thousand on the clock and in excellent condition - is livelyness normal? I'm told the suspension is not dissimilar to the Sirion and I remember that as both smooth and with excellent handling.

    Hi Bassoon,

Yes, the suspension is a bit on the firm side ! Luckily, there's just enough foam in the seat squab to prevent bruising your buttocks every time you meet a pothole.

Suspension is very firm as standard, I switched to 195/45 R15 Uniroyal Rainsport 3 on 5" wide wheels, 45 offset and the ride feels a bit smoother, I don't feel it's affected the handling either apart from more traction in the wet which was my main reason for the change. Tyres it was running felt like ice skating in Manchester weather :p
