    Hi All
I have mentioned before that my wife's original A\C compressor failed, as did the replacement 2nd hand unit too.
So, with this in mind we have found a supplier that can provide a new A\C compressor, but need advice as to whether we need to purchase other parts of the A\C system also?

I have heard that the Dryer will need replacing alongside a new compressor, as the old unit may contain contaminants that will reduce the lifespan of the new compressor.

I'm not sure if this is a separate unit or part of the condenser? So, it may mean we will need a new condenser which includes the dryer.

I presume new seals/O-rings come with a new dryer or condenser too?
It won't be cheap, but we need to sort this out once and for all.

Any guidance with the above would be much appreciated.

    This is for a 2009 1.3 Copen.

    Hi Technik21,

The Copen has an A/C condenser located at the front of the engine bay, with the evaporator integrated within the dashboard. Accessing the evaporator is quite involved, as it requires removal of the dashboard. This website provides a useful overview of the process:

The cooler evaporator (Daihatsu part number: 88501-97220) costs approximately £127 when ordered directly from Japan via suppliers such as:
IMPEX JAPAN — online new genuine spare parts shop.

For the A/C condenser part number see: AC Condenser
