None as of yet but i've picked a copen to be my first :)
I have found a 2004 yellow copen for a really good price but it's got an over average 97,000 miles on the clock, it has a full service history & the body work looks good & free of rust are there any other problems
    I should be looking for?

Check for water in the boot well. Somes times the middle brake light leaks.
Regular oil changes are the most important point.

If you search this site for 'service history' you will find some other peoples comments.

The service history must be very good to go for it.
If you go for it you'll need to look after it. Keeping up with those oil changes.

There's a guy in Australia who has a very high mileage Copen that he uses all the time. As long as the engine is looked after it will last.

I've seen the car your talking about on the bay. Looks good.
Who could resist a Yellow one. :D

I used to own a bright yellow Fiat Cinquecento Sporting. It was brilliant!

Ime close to 200,000 km with my copen -as long as they are serviced on time and not driven hard, they wont give you much trouble. I service every 3000kms- oil changes for the turbo to run well is essential.
Ive encountered things like tyre availabilty a hard thing sometimes - not always available - but they last long. If rust isnt an issue, the car is question was kept in a garage maybe? interior wise - the seatbelts wear the seat down on the high shoulder if not in the right position, and the mid shoulder wears from getting in and out. ( i put black tape on where it rubs to stop that)
O2 sensors have to be replaced at some time - and they are expensive -
Toyota service and maintain the parts chain, so it isnt usually hard to get parts for now.. seviceing is comparitive in cost (cheaper than my camry) so overall it isnt a hard car to deal with. and very reliable

Take a test drive & make sure your boyfriend has a go in it too.
You'll convince him for sure then.

Haha! Sort of, my boyfriend will be named driver & use it in the week & I will use it at weekends... Not ideal but it will only be for a year or so whilst I get some no claims up so I can be named driver & not be absolutely skint :) I'm not giving up on my copen dreams >.<
