Driving a 2003 model Australian delivered Copen
    Mods: - Pod air intake,
    - 2" straight through, unequal, with 2.5" pipe for echo
    - Blow-off valve / vent to atmo
    - Turbosmart manual boost controller
    - Period style 7" glass touch screen
    - Period underglow lighting [legal]
    - Dash mount real-time engine temp display
    - Dash mounted boost gauge
    - Dash mounted upshift indicator
    - Now @70k kms [from 45k].
As practical as an F1 car with a cupholder, but so worth the effort & many compromises that driving a Copen requires, especially now I have my boost controller!

At 14.5psi boost, for daily driving I set my upshift light for 4k then shift & I land right back on the turbo at 3k in 20kmh increments. 'Research' indicates that: on the flat, 155kmh is fine with the roof down; 165-70 with the roof up. :D

With nice 175/50 Hankook tyres, she handles like a cat on carpet & stops very short. So I hunt down & kill Rangers, Hiluxes, Cayennes etc on the 80kmh Parkes Way roundabouts here for fun. Carry some revs, brake very late, turn when you feel the weight shift, then once you hit the apex straighten out & step on it. They are now 100-200m behind me, so they floor their big engine, pass me, rinse & repeat it at the next one.

It seems the bigger & heavier their penis enlargement device, the more they just need to fight my Copen & her friend, Newtonian Physics, and prove that their truck can out-corner me. Pro tip: It can't.

My last 2 cars were also Daihatsus - 2003 model Sirion GTVi with small performance mods. Great little sleeper cars.

Cheers from Canberra, where it might be 46deg with fires...
...or -6deg but no bloody snow! Brian
