Driving a 2003 model Copen
Mods: - It has a large direct air intake,
- 2" straight through exhaust, with 2.5" pipe for echo,
- Real-time engine temp sensor & display,
- Blow-off valve now vents to atmosphere & pipe to turbo
solidly covered.
- Turbosmart manual boost controller,
- Now up to 60k kms (from 45k).
Hopelessly impractical but so worth the effort & many compromises that driving a Copen means, especially now I have my boost controller!
My last 2 cars were also Daihatsus - 2003 model Sirion GTVi with small performance mods. Two careless drivers means I now have my baby Copen. With the GTVi's, I found that putting 15kg of sand in the spare tyre well dramatically improved handling. Cheap fix!
No need in the Copen, with nice 175/50 tyres it handles like it's on rails & stops very short. So I hunt down & kill Rangers, Hiluxes etc on the 80kmh Parkes Way roundabouts for fun. Seems the bigger & heavier their penis enlargement device, the more they just need to fight my Copen & her friend, Newtonian Physics, for proof it works. Pro tip: it doesn't.Interact
