i noticed that the triangular trim at the front of the window has split and am trying to source another one. I’ve got a couple of feelers out with some eBay breakers but has anyone got any ideas where I might be able to source a replacement or make an effective repair. At the moment, I just get slight water ingress which shows up on the front of the inner sill but I’d like to get it fixed ASAP. I wouldn’t mind but I’ve used almost a full bottle of gummipfledge on all the seals since I bought it exactly a year ago. Couple of pics attached.
67503 - 97202 is the part number and it seems to be called a front door window bracket RH And now I know what to search for, boom! SG parts have them, ouch at the price though, £117 new. Apparently it extends down all the way, isn't just the triangular bit that's visible. Ouch. That’s expensive and more complicated than I realised but I’ve been able to use the diagram to contact eBay sellers so they know what I’m looking for. Unfortunately, I don’t have Facebook but have been able to see the Facebook posts. Thanks for the links. Very useful.
Hi there There is a guy called Adam on eBay breaking a red copen. Just got some bits from him so he may be worth a go eBay item 222819171237 Nathan
You could give it a try repairing it with black silicone adhesive sealant, I ran into a japanese repair video using what I think is it to fix cracked rubber. This video with english speech might be more helpful though
@Nathan Thanks for the heads up. I’ve messaged him but no reply as yet. @Salieri Thanks. I’ve thought about that but the trouble is that this particular seal has to allow the glass to slide on the inside and also move in and out of the windscreen pillar seal so it’s very much a job for the summer when I can leave the door open while it cures. I think with hindsight I assumed the part to be plastic and didn’t gummipfledge it properly so get out there and do yours folks !
@BarnsleyRob Nice of you to think of me, but I didn't post in this thread You can try fixing it with rubber glue, if all else fails you can still get a new one at the dealer And by the way: Its Gummipflege, not pfledge . Gummi = rubber, Pflege = care
@Salieri - I stand corrected. @Vin Petrol - Just had a better look at the second video nd that may work with care. I actually got the parts off Adam on eBay and it looks a bit more complicated as the unit comprises the front guide for the window. He had to remove the door card and then drop the window glass. I’m sure it’s all doable but it’ll have to wait until spring/summer when I can afford to leave it to cure. Thanks though for your contributions.
