Found this link while trying to work out whats size alloys fit the copen, seems pretty good, really helped me understand wheel sizing. http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp You can put the oem details in then play around and see the difference. If my research is correct the Copen wheels are 15x5.5J with a 45 Offset 100PCD and 165x50tyres??? According to the caluclator fitting a 6J over a 5.5J seems to make no difference with the stock tyres, does that sound right? Andy
Here's a Copen with 14" wheels and obviously higher profile tyres. Doesn't look too bad and I would guess the ride is softer.
It's working ok for me. I can see the picture I posted and in your reply. The picture is near the top of this thread, the red Copen...... http://www.micro-roadster.de/wbb2/thread.php?postid=37445
Hi ya, these are 165/60R14 Uniroyal MS plus 6 winter tyres on a DBV "Adria 14" 6x14 offset(?) 38mm rims. I can imagine that the pics only show here when you are logged in at http://forum.micro-roadster.de at the same time, as you linked the picture directly from the gallery over there. Andreas
Is that your car scooty? How does it ride with that wheel / tyre combination? You're right about the picture scooty. I've just logged out of the micro roadster forum and now I can't see the picture.
Nope, it belongs to Joachim from Munich. As some wrote definitely more comfortable than the standard tyres, but on the other hand a little bit "spongy", i.e. not as direct as the standard tyres in turns. Thanks for the confirmation. Andreas
Hi all, Quick question for anyone with the knowledge... The only winter tyre I can source is the Bridgstone Blizzak in a 165/55/15 Clearly not the 165/50/15 that is the summer tyre... I have a set of the gold mini lites to put the tyres on but there's no indication with them of the limitations of tyre sizes suitable. Is the 55 factor one that's going to cause any issues? Any help appreciated!
The Blizzaks will (should) fit. The golds are the same J as standard. In fact the 55 profiles might be easier to fit. My tyre fitter struggled a bit putting the 50 profile on my standard rims. Not much flexibility. The rolling distance will be minimally longer and with the Copen speed highly under speed you don't be moving faster than its displaying. You'll just be bouncing down the road with the softer ride.
