    Hi,
Can anyone recommend what I should do, I looked at my wheel nuts the other day and they looked a bit tatty, there are so many different sorts for sale which to go for? have any of you Copenworld members changed yours? and can you recommend any? I have thought about sending mine away to be re-chromed, any advice would be very much appreciated on this matter please.

Mx5 wheel nuts fit the Copen, apparently.

DaG liked the sound of some Australian ones called tag-nuts!

copen nuts are 12mm x 1.5. Same thread and many Hondas also.

Did they specify the length? I managed to buy to sets of different nuts & both were twice the length of the originals & stuck out way too far.

The aftermarket ones say they fit your car & they do but they're not identical to the originals.

:D Had to look that one up. Not a nut you'd want to eat or use to hold your wheels on.
    BTW, Ausssies call them Dags

Yes watch the length. The locking wheel nuts I had on minewere over long for a Copen. I was paranoid I'd catch them on the curb and bend a stud or shred the threads. Scuffing my nuts didn't bother me too much but I had no idea how much force would be applied to the stud if it did happen. I fairly quickly got a second hand set off Ebay of genuine Daihatsu one's. :)

    Hi Old Badger,
Well done to you, I purchased the same brand new Mx5 chrome ones, arrived today for £17, and I totally agree they certainly finish off the wheels

Yeah, it's a no-brainer, isn't it Badger? I was treated to a complete new set of alloys under warranty at Christmas and they are severely let down by those ghastly old rusty wheel nuts - must do that with my March Copen-dough! :)

Yes Jules I agree with you - the standard Daihatsu nuts are horrible:( MLC is going in on Monday to get the wheels refurbed - should look good with the new nuts! :D

Didnt realise how bad my wheel nuts were until i checked them out after reading this thread. Took the advice, again from here, and ordered a set of MX5 ones from Ebay at £16.50 delivered and have to say the wheels are transformed. They do stick out a little but I dont think that will be a problem as they are too high for most kerbs.

The copen's nuts are 21 x 21 mm. I don't think its easy to find ones that small.

Yes, I've bought chrome Copen wheel nuts from amazon Japan as well as a few other Copen related bits that they sell. There's no duty to pay as long as the order is below around £135 (check HMRC for up to date info).
