yesterday morning got in the car to go to work and thought I heard a police siren behind me. then I realised - it's my copen. when I put my foot down, I'm getting a high pitched whistling that rises in pitch as my speed rises - never had that before. have a horrible feeling it could be the turbo - and a sign that it's going. anyone experienced this? - have another explanation?
have you checked the air filter hoses are all connectded and that nothing has come lose also worth checking the intercooler pipe work and all the pipe work it dose sound like it could be turbo, but could be pipe has come lose causing you to hear the turbo compressor spinning dose it boost ok still or are you down on on power? do it make the noise when you are going fast but not on the throttle?
Only seems to be when on the throttle. I'm due to change the air filter tomorrow so fingers crossed it's just a bit loose from where I recently undid it
Popped it into a garage today and they suspect that it's just some loose piping to the turbo - fingers crossed that is the issue as it did appear out of nowhere overnight. They also pointed out a ticking noise when idling so hopefully that will be dealt with
The ticking could just the injectors clicking/ticking away,we're is the knocking coming from, could be what ever has come lose vibrating against side of engine or chassis, think positive and hopefully it's nothing serious
