After having my copen just over a month now, a few of my mates really want one, unfortunately, their parents are not so finatially comfortable as mine, so they have a relitively low budget, I said i would ask around, and i would much rather them get a copen from here where you have a relitively good chance of a well kept turbo, none of therese copens with 40k miles ans for £2 grand!
very unrealistic in my eyes the budget, if they want this car with a turbo that has been looked after they need to realise that it is worth an extra £1000 and take that as part of buying the car. best chance is buying one with a dead turbo and managing to pick up a spare turbo on ebay or something along those lines. but good luck to them!
I got my Copen for £2000. Admittedly, mine is a bit of a fixer-upper. Yes, I'm worried about the turbo blowing... but you know what, I'm happy to work on ScootyPuff myself.
My Copen is a 2003 and has covered 41K and has mostly a flawless main dealer service record. The car is immaculate apart from rust to the rear arches which the owner could have had fixed for free under warranty and which disappointed me when I found out. I paid £1900 for her but would have been happier at £1700 given the cost of the repairs to the rear arches. So, they are out there for a reasonable amount of money. Fortunately, my car was just a few miles from my home so there was no long journey with a lemon at the end of it. I have a SEAT with a turbo and never give it a second thought and indeed tend to forget it needs oil changes but I have taken on board the advice in this forum about the Copen turbo and have had the filter changed and the very best oil used. (For 'best' read 'expensive'). Ned
maybe it is where i live (London) but no chance round here and this will be the second copen i will be buying in 2 years.
I will sell you mine...................turbo gone on it and its been in the garage for a few months now as i havent had chance to fix the poor thing....
Hi there, Just putting it out there that I also have a copen for sale with a dead turbo. I'm in Glasgow. Gorgeous, white perfect bodywork. Tan interior. 46,000 miles. Great runner until turbo went. Unfortunately seems to be a common fault! Thanks
Since low mileage and impeccable condition inside and out, I'd be looking for £3000. On this forum, I have been advised you can get a turbo from £700, but there have been cheaper ones on e bay. Thanks
firstly we live on the south coast,, couldnt be much farther away! plus my mates would be looking at finding a copen with a working turbo for 2k and ones without for 1k-1.5k looks are not importen to them !
