Can anyone tell me where to place a trolley Jack and Axle stands safely on my little "Bette Bumble" Copen, please?

Photos would be great, or some idiot guide instructions?

Thanks for the swift reply Neil50!!

My new hydrolic jack arrived this afternoon so headlamp bulb replacement will commence tomorrow morning courtesy of your jacking point diagrams.

Then it's cleaning a painting the rear brake drums sometime next week.
What colour, silver, black or vibrant red???

The front jacking point is not as far back as the diagram makes it seem, remember it is a short car. It is basically at the very front. Look under the centre of the front of the car and you will see the bulb in the sub-frame which is where you place your jack. Hopefully you have bought a low entry jack?

you can change every bulb in front of your car with the original screw onboard tool. front tire away. Pull it up. Plastik inside away..carefully with a small screwdriver. torch helpfull.
I had never screwed away anything.Never i had put down the bumper or anything.
foglights and also the bulbs in the frontlights are simpel to change . Its not easy. But its possible.if i get time ..i will show you some Photos how its goes.
And i have a very low car.. DSC00381.JPG

    Wow, that's low!
Afraid it wouldn't last five minutes in Wiltshire with all our high speed bumps and profuse "imperfections" in the road surfaces.

I actually banged the subframe loudly today on a cobbled speed bump in the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral, even at crawl speed!!!

Thanks for the feedback and advice guys and gals.

Well, my new trolley jack fitted under the front chassis dip by 0.5mm, phew.

Wheel nuts loosened, up she goes, axle stand (base only) under the jack point below the passenger door for some added safety, nuts and wheel off and there is the black plastic wheel arch trim.

Trouble is, most of the plastic retaining rivets are badly damaged so a struggling/heaving 40 mins getting half of them loose to even start gazing at the headlamp fittings, Arg!!!

Started bending/gently pulling the trim loose and a small metal bracket tinkles to the ground!
Seems to have been fixed onto the inner chassis member so a slight detour from plan to drill out the bracket hole and rivet it back in place, hmmm.

It's very bright daylight so I can't see a damned thing in the depths of the front wheel arch but fortunately managed to get my phone squeezed in to take a photo of the back of the headlamp fitting after removing the plastic housing cover. See photo below.

Note the retaining spring clip which was easy to undo and the alinement of the bulb base, angled section facing two o'clock.

After that it was just a bit of standard fumbling about getting the old headlamp bulb out and the new one in, fiddly but manageable. Actually easier than the driverside headlamp bulb replacement on my 2004 Grand Renault Scenic.

Managed to find an assortment of plastic trim rivets to get the arch cover back in on a temporary basis and later found some proper replacements on dear old EBay as none of the local six car spares suppliers had any in stock, why not???

At least I know the procedure now. Onwards and upwards! image.jpeg

When I had to take the front bumper off to get the old oil filter off (previous owner had fitted a large one that would not go through the gap in the engine mounting bracket) most of the clips and screws were corroded. That is to say the clips on the drivers side as for some reason I have no inner wheel arch liner on the near side!! This then caused the 3 screw holding the bumper to the wing to be corroded and a pain to get off. Did it in the end but a pain. Wire brushed them all before i re-fitted. On the look out now for an inner wing liner to fit to the passenger side to keep all the crap off the back of the lights etc.
