    Hi all
Ok so my roof has a problem! Check the codes, 51 and 81 came up ecu issues! Fettled around managed to get the boot open being my size 6 foot! Wasn't easy. Open boot full of water got rid of water but Ecu had obviously been soaked at some stage. So looking for new or replacement ecu any help would be appreciated. Also foot well soaking wet so I'm assuming the water has traveled from the boot space. I will fix her she will be back to her best again I promise you.

Before you splash out on new ECUs, it might be worth disconnecting the power to them (remove the battery if you know your stereo/alarm codes) and give them time to dry out fully. Then try a squirt of electrical contact cleaner on the plugs and see how you go.

Failing that, have a look at eBay. There was a full harness with ECUs on there a couple of days ago.

If you do end up buying an ECU, do be careful to get one with the right part no.; I understand that there are 2 different versions- those in the know will know more than me.

There are 2 ECUs but the harness on eBay claimed to have both present and correct.

    Here you go.

    daihatsu copen | eBay

I think Freddie may mean that you should cure the source of the leak before you replace the ECU.
