Oi oi saveloy! Hello there all, I am a newbie and totally tempted by the copen world. They are really nice quirky cars and to be honest I'm a bit of a classic car fan, but dont really have the confidence to run one. The copen seems to fit the bill and answer my often asked question "why don't they make them to look like that anymore?". So I am a leisure driver, spending most of my time commuting by bike, my current car takes me on camping trips and down to the beach on weekends. So I guess my question, for you guys who use your copens, is the tiny tiny boot space enough for what I'm thinking of using it for? I'm going to test drive one tomorrow 2004 model, services up to date ) so if I end up getting it, I want to know if my glastonbury festival gear will squeeze into it!
Welcome to the site. I totally agree with your statement about new cars. 99% of them are just annoyingly bland! You can get a reasonable amount in a Copen if you're creative. Maybe one of these would help? Enjoy your test drive and let us know how you get on.
Thanks for the link Oooh, that boot rack looks ace. One problem, the link doesn't seem to find the product and I cant seem to find it under the copen products on the website. Perhaps they've stopped making them
Did you try this link further down the page? http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/shops/Rat_Sport/index.php?cat=Boot_Luggage_Racks Model CBR1045 Rex.
The Copen boot is a really decent size when the roof is up. Less so when open-top. But you can get a decent sized bag in the footwell of the passenger seat and a little more luggage in the boot. You'll manage and it's worth it. M.
Saturday was an excellent day to do a test drive. She was there waiting looking shiney and beautiful. I was concerned about a few bits of rust that I thought I saw in the website photos but they were not to be seen in real life. I loved the car! Got completly lost on the test drive but had great fun finding my way back. My boyfriend however hated the car, clostrophobic was the only word he could find, but I figure he can have more of a say when he gets a driving licence! Plus they have offered me a good part exchange price on my old banger of a 1996 Micra, and they have offered to do me a deal. A deal... how intriging. Anyone know much about how to play the car sales haggling game? Tips welcome!
Not too sure what you are trying to say there foxyrokchick to the rest of us blokes, but I'll forgive you Rex.
I can't believe it. I called the dealer to put my deposit down and he had gone home early and when I called the next day, he had sold it that morning. I am gutted! :-(( Ah well, at least I know what I am after now, having test driven many many cars. The hunt begins! (again)
