Hi :)! Im thinking of buying a new wind deflector with LED's in it from Japan, It says it fits the L880K model guessing thats the turbo? but will it fit the 1.3? are there any major changed in body work in regards to the turbo and 1.3 apart from the spoiler?

    :)

    Hi Matt -

did you ever find out whether having anything other than red lights at the back was legal? because I also am very interested in getting one.

Hey copencat :) i believe you are not aloud to show a white light at the back while driving (unless reversing lights) im not sure about a blue or pink one though. Not sure how to go about finding this out. It looks great http://image.space.rakuten.co.jp/d/...4e271.63.1.8.2.jpg?l2-id=review_PC_id_body_09 and not too bright? i know they can be switched off as well if need be. =\ il do a little more research and see what i can find and i will post it here.

Edit: I found this on another forum: "The UK law on car neon lighting

There is much confusion on the existing laws about neon lighting products on the roads in the UK. This short article aims to clear up any confusion and to put minds at rest where neon and LED lighting legalities are concerned.

The law isn’t exactly what you could call clear about neons. The general principle is if it distracts the driver or other road users then they shouldn’t be on. However, exactly what is distracting is quite a subjective view.

The laws states that car exterior neon products are allowed providing they are red at the back, orange on the sides and white on the front. In my opinion, that isn’t really a good look to go for but some limo companies prefer this setup as to avoid any trouble from the police. Under-car neon’s should be used OFF THE ROAD ONLY.

You should be safe with interior lighting as long as the lights or LED’s aren’t right in front of the driver’s eyes or in the windscreen, etc. As there is no clear law about car interior neons, you can’t really be pulled for them. However, if they are distracting, you could be pulled. Either be sensible with the installs (e.g. put them in the footwells) or switch them off when you are driving.

It as always a good idea to install a switch so that if you do have problems with the police, just switch them off and I’m sure you will be sent on your way.

Please note that this is a guide only and you should check the law by calling either the DVLA or your local police station. I am in no way suggesting the illegal use of car accessories"

    HI Matt

Yeah I saw that too - made me think that if you got the light up in red then it really wouldnt be a problem.

Some here talked about making your own, with glass cut from a german guy that Adam K recommended and then buying a strip of LEDs below, but what you would affix that to, I dont know. I have to yet look in detail how that would work. (just re run and seen that you posted the original thread for this discussion lol!)

I think with the roof down - having the lights in white in surrey would definitely get you the attention of the traffic cops and I would rather not run the risk. So if you could get it in red and have a switch i think that would be great!

See i thought that too. But i emailed Mick Corp to see what other colours they did it in a few weeks ago and its only pink, blue and white. Really liked the look of the blue. Aw yeah i remember them talking about making your own, but i was the same wasnt sure where the led strip would go :( yeah i am the same here, the white would be just too risky :\ It also plugs into the cigarette lighter im sure, so you can turn it off at any time :) do you have the link on where to buy one?
