I need some help determining what is original or optional extra or added by owner on a few interior items. I've been reading the threads and looking at other pics to try to identify things.

    1. It has a Momo steering wheel which I presumed was standard but they have been mentioned on a few threads, is my one standard ?

    2. Speakers in the windscreen pillar. The seller told me these weren't standard but the fit is top notch so I presumed factory fitted but I noticed in a pic on one thread here it was just a flat pillar with no ridge and speaker, anyone else got these fitted?

    3. This badly fitted stereo is obviously fitted afterwards which I will replace with hopefully a DVD player with GPS and a USB port if these can be had ? And preferably with a tracker in case of theft ( I can only get 3rd party insurance for it here so I don't want to lose it!). On the pics I've looked at on this forum the CD/DVD player is in the bottom slot which I would expect, and the top slot is occupied by something else which I can't identify in the pics and I don't have a handbook, so what was there originally ?

Thanks in advance for any advice and replies, I'm a newbie so be gentle please ![/ATTACH] 20160227_121855.jpg 20160227_144616.jpg 20160227_144542.jpg

Everyone personalises their Copen! It's part of the enjoyment! Mine has a lot of non standard items but they all look like they are original (well almost all).

    1. That looks like the standard Momo steering wheel. Not all Copen's have them but a lot do.
    2. The speakers aren't standard as far as I know. Unless they were a Japanese option. They look good though!
    3. The original radio isn't brilliant! It would have been in the slot with a clock and small shelf above it (some are below but most above). If you remove the radio and the shelf that you have you can fit a double din radio in the gap, so should be able to get all the gadgets you want on it. The only restrictions are the depth of the housing. I'll see if I can find a link.

This you tube video by Number 6 might help

I can't find the depth dimension at the moment but I'll let you know if I do. They will all fit but some will protrude from the dash. It is a case of measuring it when you remove the old one or buying the shallowest one you can find!

Wow, Thanks Clare, you are a star, a bit like Santa's Little Helper, and I don't mean the Simpsons' dog ! :D

I have done a search for some stuff to ensure I don't ask the same obvious questions (eg tyre pressure tho I'm still confused) but still finding my way around the forum. I will have to see if Number 6 has installed his double din yet.

I don't know why the original owner didn't install his stereo under the clock and leave the top with the clock intact though. :wondering:

    1. The Momo steering wheel is standard. The coloured ones, however, aren't on the 660cc (I bought a red coloured one myself, check out the ScootyPuff thread for a picture)
    2. The tweeters aren't standard
    3. That stereo isn't standard - the standard one fitted is a piece of shit Clarion.
I've not installed a double DIN yet. The one I want is rather expensive, given it's Android, had GPS, a SIM card, etc, so I need to save up my fun money which is challenging seeing as I'm also saving for my wedding.

With respect to the depth of the radio unit, take out the carry tray and use a ruler! I have no issues with the radio sticking out a bit.

Thanks Number6. I know the stereo isn't standard but it's old and an ugly fit as you can see the silver metal around the edges. Also the slot below isn't much use as it is so a double din DVD/GPS etc would tidy it up. Which stereo model have you got your eyes on ?

Obvious questions are fine! Tyre pressure is 35 psi for the front and rear tyres.

When I searched the forum for tyre pressure there were suggestions for 33 and 35, what's the 2.4 on the sticker on the door ?

No specific one thus far, but the rough prices are about 300-500 EUR :speechless:

As far as I know Copens were always delivered with a stereo installed.
The shelf underneath (or above) in some countries contained a digital clock, in some (as yours) just the plain shelf.
A shelf with a clock can easily be retrofitted (cabling is always already in place), as it is a standard part used in a lot of other Daihatsus.

Thanks Andreas but I will be utilising the full space for my new DVD player when I can sort it. Just been to town to look. Unfortunately I live in a small town so not much choice. One had a nice Kenwood with GPS for 28,000 Baht, about 565 GBP or a Pioneer without GPS for around 15,000 Baht, about 300 GBP and the other, yes, there are only 2 shops, had unknown brands, the best being Bostwick which the lady said was made by JVC but I doubt that, with a navigation app but not GPS for 18,500 Baht, about 375 GBP.
I will look online when I have time.

If I drive the 3 or so hours to Bangkok the Kenwood is only 22,000 Baht!

Does anyone know what brand and quality the door speakers are and will I have to upgrade them also ?

Yes, I've recently installed a Sony XNVL-66BT DVD with Tom Tom navi system. This was bought in Europe.
