Hi. Have just started the process of a thorough clean of my "pocket rocket" and just discover a split in a hose. I have problems opening the manuals even though downloaded on various machine but can't open the files. Hope someone may be able to advise on the name of this part and best way forward.

That's the factory dump,/recirculation valve pipe, goes from the black dump valve to the inlet pipe I think, it's been a while since I had all that stuff fitted, pull the engine cover of and get another pic, I've got that pipe sat in garage that I'm sure is good condition that could sell if you get stuck

thats the recirc pipe for the standard dump valve, its just a 90 degree bit of hose that has a plastic sleeve on the end going in to the inlet pipe, you could get one from daihatsu or take it of measure the internal diameter and get a new silicone hose of ebay that will be better and more flexible that the original daihatsu part.

its the only part of all that pipe work that i have kept and am using or could of sold it to

no worries, hope you get it sorted, its not going to cause any real problems tho it being split, its not part of the system that sees positive boost or something that would create a vacuum/boost leak

You could even wrap it in a load of insulation tape to keep it from leaking, how long it would last - probably longer then you expect!

Many thanks for the reassurance. My husband is going to either heat shrink it or replace it.
