Hello, I know you can tighten the two front clasps to stop the roof moving at the front but is there any adjustment elsewhere on the roof? When the roofs up I’m getting same banging type noises i used to get at the front (prior to adjustment) at the back. It sounds like the sections that make up the roof have movement between them and they lightly fud together with the road vibration. It's fine now as i have the roof down most days but could get very annoying on a long journey with it up come winter. Thanks, Andrew.
Sorry Andrew, I know this is not really the answer you are after.... I have noticed if you don't use operate the roof for a few days you tend to get more rattles. I think this is because the pressure in the hydraulic cylinders that operate the roof, slowly leak away. So you could try putting your roof down, just a little and back up each day. (only in Winter - ofcourse ) Rex.
Thanks Rex, Thats an interesting idea and could be the case. Up until this week i have only been using the car 1 or 2 times a week as i cycle to work. This week it's seen alot of use though with the roof up and down several times a day, i'll have to do a small journey with the roof up now and see if it's impoved this week from use. Thanks again, Andrew.
Well unfortunately Rex i don’t think it made any difference It's the join between the roof and the rear window panel that has movement and in banging when going over bumps or any other vibration, anyone else get this? Andrew
Sometimes the flexing between the rubber seals can sound like a pretty loud banging. I find that a regular wipe over with a silicone lubricant on the rubber surfaces cures a lot of noise. It would be nice if the Copen had a rigid chassis and the seals never rubbed against each other but...
