Hi guys, One thing that has bothered me with my Copen is the possibility of engine overheating. The engine is very highly strung and the Copen only has a tiny amount of coolant, so any problems there will become a major problem very, very quickly. Frankly, like many of us, I only look at the temp gauge occasionally. Plus, it regularly gets to 40 deg here in Canberra as well (and -6 in winter). So I had a real time engine temp sensor fitted. It has shown me that the Copen temp gauge has only 4 settings - "cold", "fairly cold", "middle" and, I assume, "Your engine is dead". It sits on the very right of my dash and has a big, clear digital readout. After some field research I've set the temp alarm to 95 deg ,since the Copen will often get to 80-85. Even at 85, the temp gauge just reads "middle". I highly recommend getting a real time engine temp sensor since it only set me back $250 all up. I dread to think of the cost if it does overheat so it's pretty cheap insurance. Plus, now I understand my little engine better & know when to start taking it a bit easier. Luckily I live in Canberra (Aust's city-state Capital) so I don't sit in traffic much - traffic obviously sends it up. Hope this helps someone, Brian
Hi from Canberra welzy, my seat belt cleaning mate! PS Sticking a "y" on the end of a name is something we do with friends.
So you understand my pain... It's such an artificial place, sort of a soulless little city-state. At least we just built a light rail line from Civic to Gungahlin in the north.
