It just screws out unless you're wanting to change the base as well? Can't find anywhere whether it's a 5 or 6mm thread but most aerials seem to come with adapters for either. Pictures below, if you don't have google translate on your browser (or use Chrome) it's all in japanese though. Not that the translations help much. I'm reasonably sure the question 'Should I make High Octopus?' was a bad translation, but it's Japan so I'm not sure. [ダイハツ コペン]アンテナ交換【鞭の有効活用】
Thanks for that. It is the base I want to get off. There is some damage to the paint that I want to sort.
Ah right, well my car's currently covered in snow so I'm not looking atm, however I'm fairly sure the bolt or fixing will be inside the boot behind the carpeting. It's most likely a threaded cylinder poked through from the outside with a nut to hold it on inside, but I haven't seen it on the Copen specifically. Only problem you're likely to have is removing the carpet trim in the boot, if it's held in place with those stupid little plastic fasteners they're a bugger to get out without breaking them.
I assume you've probably gotten it off by now, but I just ran across a diagram of the aerial if it helps any, also if anyone needs to replace their mount I found a pic with the part number:- And I just found this pic of the mount taken off, text says it's held on by 1 M10 bolt but it's difficult to access - I think, it's google translation of japanese.
