Had a Copen two years and now time to replace a break light. Completely stumped.

Check out the resources section on here or try YouTube. You may have more success if you search “brake light” and it’s not for the faint hearted.

From what I've read, the light is held in by one screw and 2 retaining clips, it's supposed to push out after you remove the screw but it sounds a complete pain in the ass, linked the thread that describes it below.
Is it the whole brake light or just the bulb that needs replacing? My plan after reading people's descriptions is to just take the whole back bumper off to get easier access to the tail lights and replace every bulb at once, that should give me the maximum amount of time before I have to go through it again :p I just need to settle the argument I'm having with myself over LED rear light clusters (not a bulb, whole unit) before I order them or new bulbs for the existing ones.

I’m thinking LED would be the way to go, although it may need a ballast resistor. As far as I know this upgrade doesn’t infringe the new MOT which is the case for LED headlights. Have you found somewhere that does the whole cluster ?

Yeah...Japan :p It shouldn't be a problem for the MOT, I've actually read the new manual. I doubt it has an E mark so it's not technically legal however that's not checked.

It comes in various colours too, from red, clear, light or dark tints, but it takes a bit of searching. Here's red ones - Item page - ZenMarket.jp - Japan Shopping & Proxy Service and light smoke Item page - ZenMarket.jp - Japan Shopping & Proxy Service

    red version -

    dark version -

I'm not sure the clear version is red enough though when lit up

There's also LED rear indicator clusters but they're no good for Europe unfortunately since they don't have a fog light - unless you tint the glass red over one and connect it up to your fog light I guess but I have no idea on that working or not.

Boot brake light comes in LED though -

The tail lights look pretty neat. I think the boot light is already LED though.
