Hi all - wondering if someone can help with these newbie questions.

Got my Copen yesterday and I love her :) she a 2007 1.3 in silver :)

So, first question.. the two roof clips on the inside have some white speckles on them, which I assume is moisture/ damp from some point where the sun visors have been up against the clips? Has anyone else had this before and be able to recommend something to remove/ touch up the clips? (can upload a pic if needed)

Second question.. last night I had trouble closing the boot. I popped it from the console box in the middle of the car, and then realised I didn't need the boot so didn't fully open it. When I tried shutting it it wouldn't latch, panic ensued! I eventually pressed the boot release again and opened it fully, then shut it, and it latched with a very electronic sounding shut. Normal? Is it because I didn't fully open the boot the first time round?

Third question.. where can I get Copen shaped plates made up? Have had a look on google and there didn't seem to be a lot of choice.

    TIA!

    Charlotte - official Copen N00bie.

    Hi Charlotte,

There are Copen owners with more experience than I on the forum so hopefully they will be able to answer your questions more fully..... that said....

    1) I have exactly the same marks on my roof clips but mine are more like tiny chips and scuffs. I figure these are caused when the roof is folded down over time and catching on the mechanism. I've just learnt to live with them as 99% of the time I don't even notice them.
    2) The boot not self closing has happened to me on a number of occasions and figure the onboard computer hasn't registered that boot has opened and so doesn't know to close it. The sequence you went through works for me as well, press the console button (or hold the unlock car button on the key fob for 10 seconds), fully open and then close as normal.

Can't help on the number plate I'm afraid.

    Cheers

    Paul.

Thanks Paul, I just found the boot unlock from the remote control somewhere else on the forum, was so excited when I found it, just tried it and it works! This is my first 'nice' car, so this is somewhat exciting to me :)

Glad to hear it's not just mine with the marks, not really too worried but would be nice to touch them in. Could be a sharpie job hehe..

I was going to suggest a Sharpie :D A Copen is always a thrill, so your excitement is understandable

There's a number plate maker on ebay called "hardridden" who may be able to help. As I've not bought anything from him, I can't vouch for him, but he doesn't look over expensive.

IMG_1026.JPG I have chrome covers on my roof latches from Chrome Design like these which hide everything but I can't find them listed at the moment and they seem to have reduced their range

They have an eBay shop or click here

    Chrome

I get my number plates from here

    Car Number Plates

It is just a local place to me, I don't know if they would post some to you otherwise a similar place near you could probably make one if you gave them a template.

electronic sound is motors closing the boot. I've had to educate people not to slam my boot shut, just push it down until the motors take over to close it.

Just thought I'd update as I got my plates on today and they're perfect. Thought it was going to be a struggle but my local motor factors were able to order a copen back plate and then made up (a possibly slightly legally too small) front plate which looks perfect. Looking into chroming the roof clips next....

Then I'll be looking at getting the seats seen to as they're very 'worn', especially on driver side. Not noticeable to people passing on the outside but I can see it

Im a bit envious because of your perfectly fitting plates. There are no such plates allowed where I come from and its a pain
