    Hi all

Any idea how I can increase or improve the rough revs on idle on y 1.3ltr Copen. Do I need to give the car a service - plugs, filters/oil etc or can I increase the revs by turning a screw?

    Cheers

    Is a service overdue?
If regularly serviced I guess its telling you something has changed or broken.
Don't know the 1.3 NA but I would have a check of all induction pipework looking at joints or splits and air filter, also the rocker breather pipes. Just increasing idle speed seems to bypass the problem but should expect a throttle stop screw on the throttle body or an air bleed after the throttle.

    Hi

Service is due end of next month and I don't think the plugs have been charged. I will carry out the service and check for air leaks then possibly increase the idle via the screw if that doesn't sure the issue It only need to be increased a tad.

Do you have an OBD2 reader to check for fault codes?
Worth getting one for a fiver if you haven't.
    Maybe also try ECU reset.
Cold engine, reset, restart engine, dont touch anything! allow to idle for five minutes, now OK to drive.

Throttle stop screw should be where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body on the intake manifold. Look for a screw that limits the throttle quadrature from fully returning. Better still download the workshop manual from the resources section of this site for a concise method as throttle stop adjustment may not be the way to go.

Does anyone know what the revs at idle should be for the 1.3 model. I plugged the obd reader at its showing revs at idle reading 650 rpm. Is this correct? Cheers

Used to have a White Copen, but I sold it in 2023
    650rpm is perfect.
I will just leave this here:

You cannot manually adjust the idle on a Copen. Sometimes it is a bit rough. Maybe bad fuel, overdue service...
