Our Copen has just started to give a loud knock(much like a metal contact with glass) when hitting a pothole. The noise is just behind my right shoulder and only when the top is up only on the driver side. I have inspected both the window glass and cannot find any marks. Anyone out there have had the same problem.
Does your roof need tightening up? it may have just become slack and hit the point its now making a noise for you to notice. If it doesn't occur with the roof down it suggests this. Are all the plastic interior trims clipped in place securely? Is the parcel shelf loose?
knock Thanks for you quick reply Trusafox. This is only on the drivers side and is becoming worse, and I believe you are correct. I was thinking of starting with the roof catches and adjust the off side one. Other than that take it back to our local Daihatsu dealer. I did find another member who reported the same problem but no one replied, but he had a left hand drive car. The roof catches do not require any pressure to secure is this normal? No noise from this area just this loud knock in the same area when hitting a bump or pothole. Perhaps the roof needs to be adjusted following the report in this forum.
