Oh yes, I managed to do it today As it was a cold morning I was wearing a big coat, so I decided to put it in the boot before starting off for a drive from Gloucester to Cardiff. Opened the boot with the remote, took off the coat and put it in, closed the boot. Ah, were were the keys? As I checked my pockets I heard the famous 30 second click of the doors auto locking. I think you can guess the rest... What to do? Well, I knew there was RAC cover with the Daihatsu warranty, so I phoned them and after a 20 minute wait in a queue , they said I was covered and would be there in 75 mins. Time passes..... When the guy arrived, he said it would be a bit of a challenge But after 15 minutes, he had opened the doors. Now, I don't think it's a good idea to post exactly how he did for obvious reasons, but I will tell you the old 'coat hanger down the side of the window' idea didn't work, nor trying to pick the lock - good news for all of us! He had to be a little more inventive! Anyway no damage was done to the car So have I learnt a lesson? Well I hope so - always open the door before the boot Time will tell! Rex.
Glad you got it opened without damage. It's one of those things you think you'll never do until it happens.:-(( M.
