POSTPONED UNTIL 2014 The day before the annual KKITP meet, the club is trying something new & is organising a Scatter Rally. Explanation of what a Scatter Rally is: http://www.ukmotorsport.com/fmsc/scatt_info.html The club is also hoping to arrange an overnight group camp out (more details to follow). We need a minimum of 10 teams of 2 people (each car needs a driver and navigator as a minimum) . To make it viable the club need to know by the 19th of july so they have time to organise it. The club have never done a scatter rally before, but have brought in a specialist who is very experienced and they sound like great fun. The expert is going to acquire the necessary permit to make it all above board which means an entry fee of £20 per team to cover the cost of the permit and maps. It will start and end near Kingsbury water park, and cover roughly 45miles in total (depending on your route). so who's up for something different? Reply bellow, need a team name & the name of the driver & navigator. I'll then post your details on the KKITP forum. Or if you want you can join the KKITP forum ( it's free) & register yourself. http://kkitp.com/3/index.php/forum3?view=topic&catid=16&id=17516#18893
This sounds like fun. I am attending the rally and hoping to persuade another copen owner to come along as well. Making a weekend of it is appealing as well and the scatter rally may be of interest to a bigger group of my friends that don't drive KEI cars. Would they be welcome in more boring fords and Vauxhalls?
Personally, I've not got a problem with strapping DaG to the roof if he wants to join my team? it will just remind him if his biplane aerobatic days I've just read what its about. I'd have to find a navigator first before committing to it
Why is it the night before and not the same day? IF someone has to travel a reasonable distance they are forced to get accommodation for the night to do both. Or make the round trip twice. Now if you own one of the turbo lawnmowers you'd be getting close to another oil change by time its all done! I would do it but dont have a navigator.
I think Em was trying to expand the meet out a bit. Like the German Copen meet over a weekend. Some sort of drive, tour the first day. Evening get together, with the meet on the second day.
I also took into account trustafox's point about being the day before the annual meet. I was trying to make the annual meet a 2 day event but whatever I try and organise for the 1st day fails so I will stop trying and leave it as a 1 day event. Would be a lot easier if we could camp at the park but sadly we cannot. Tried to organise camping at the campsite next door but it would've been £28 per couple per tent which is just silly...
