Hi, we have just bought a 1.3 Copen and really please with it, does anyone know the torque setting for the wheel nuts as planning on doing my own servicing and checking the brakes is a good start!:D

Copen wheel nut torque setting = 103Nm

    Hi pogo.

It's a pity tyre fitters don't use a torque wrench then you might be able to undo your wheel nuts after they've tightened them.

Your right about that, had an argument last time when they wanted to tighten my wheel nuts to 80 Lb/ft when they should be 40.
I ended up tightening myself with a wheel brace.

Thanks for the torque figure, we are enjoying the car in the nice weather, long may it last:)

so do those air guns generally tighten to 80 Lb/ft?

Maybe professional tyre retailers do use a torque wrench

I used to go to a tyre fitters years ago and they always finished my nuts with a torque wrench. I've never since seen one being used at the places I go to now.
    That wasn't a deliberate double entendre I must add.:D

Yeah, they use a torque wrench for final tightening but just torque everything to 80, whatever it is!

So according to Adam, the correct torque is 103 NM which converts to 76 lbf-ft, then 80 lbf-ft is not that much over?
