Hello everyone from Greece, im George and i want to ask those who have purchased items from japanese markets and you are owners of a 1.3 l881k copen, wich parts are fit perfecrly on your copen? For example: i m thinking buing a blitz coilovers set, but it will fit my copen? It is pricy so i dont want to buy it and then it wont fit. But also let me know for any jdm parts that you purchased and fitted to eu copens. If also you buy something that dont fit, so other members dont make the same mistake. Thank you in advance!
Hi George, Based on my experience so far, the L880K and L881K share many of the same components, including body parts, brakes, damping, and suspension. Even the cabin air filter is identical between the two models. However, there are key differences when it comes to engine-related components, such as the engine itself, exhaust system, and cooling condenser. I learned this the hard way—I mistakenly ordered a condenser from Japan intended for the L880K, assuming it would fit my 1.3L L881K. Unfortunately, it turned out to be incompatible. The discharge hose connection on the L880K condenser is on the top left, whereas on the L881K it's on the top right. As a result, I also had to replace the hoses to make it work.
Shahram thank you for your response and i m sorry about your inconvinience with the condencer, actually it was yours consults in another post here for dampers that help me very much. I was going for the sowa comfort or sports sets but their no longer availlable, so i end up with blitz set because
It s the only one that can raise the car a little or dont lower it and i dint want alower ride whats your opinion? Also i thought that my copen has not an air cabin filter, does yours have? ( sorry about the 2 messeges, i pressed post by mistake. )
Hi George, Please see the attached PDF for the location of the cabin filter. The part number for the complete set (holder + filter) is 188980-97201-000. My car didn’t have the holder, so I had to order the full set. If your car already has the holder, then you’ll only need to order the filter itself. The part number for the filter only is 88980-97201. Regarding suspension height, it really comes down to personal preference and the type of roads you typically drive on. For example, in some residential areas here in the UK, the speed bumps are so high they nearly scrape the underside of the car. I often have to drive very slowly to avoid damage. That’s why I chose Showa Sport suspension, which maintains the same ride height as the original setup. When I placed my order, I had to wait around four months, as Showa only produces a limited number each year. Hopefully, they’ll resume production again soon.
Hi Shahram Thanks a lot, i ll check for the filter holder but i think any l881k model came with one. Here in Greece we are famous for our beaches not for our roads unfortuently, so we have the same problem. The good thing is that my curent set is not damaged so i can wait some months for showa and to figure out the custom costs of the import from japan, that is another big quest. Thank you once more!!
Hi shahram I tried today to find the cabin filter case as you show me at your pdf but no succes, the reason i think is that my copen has a left side steering wheel, so behind my glove box which is at the right side is te ecu and other electrical componets,so you have a cabin filter because UK copens are right sided like JDM ones. Thank you for your try and your time!!
Hi George, The cabin filter case in my car is located behind the glove box. It's quite hard to reach and is held in place by two screws. I would assume yours is also behind the glove box. If that’s not the case, then it’s likely located behind the steering wheel. I found a video on YouTube that might help: Hope this helps!
