Can anyone help me? I had a new turbo fitted a few months back and all was fine. Then I lost boost so it went back. They fixed it and said a pipe had popped off and they had reattached but it was worn and if it did it again to replace the hose. Well I've got no boost but I can hear the turbo spooling so I'm putting it down to popped off pipe again. Has anyone got any idea which pipe may have come off and if so, is it accessible or is it a case of removing half the car? I just want to enjoy my copen without having to go back to the dealer again!! Any help much appreciated!!
Hello Chris, I'm not a mechanician, but I will try to help you. If you miss boost because a leak as I understand, it is because the pressure due to the turbo is missing at the input of cylinder :-(( Two things to consider : the turbo is OK and runs well (no leak at exhaust gaz side), pressure is falling down between turbo and intake The intake circuit is like that : - fresh air is going through air filter, and arrives in the turbo, - at the output of the turbo, it is pressured, and hot (turbo is running because of exhaust gaz), - so it is necessary to cool this air, so it goes throught the intercooler, where it is refreshed, - then it comes to the intake circuit. Try to check if the pipes between turbo and intercooler, or between interccoler and intake circuit, are OK. If a pipe "pops off", I imagine you can see it The circuit is more complex than what I say. If you are a member of copenworld, you have access to Copen Service Manual where details are given. Hope you will solve your problem
Hi I have just re fitted a brand new turbo. It sounds like the pipe from the turbo to the induction has come off. May need some new clips to grip the pipe. Will be an easy fix. Look at my thread https://www.copenworld.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=2695&page=6
