Hello to my fellow copen owners, I have owned a copen since 2012 and have finally taken the plunge into the forum world. I live in Sunderland, which seems to have its fair share of copen owners, so if you've passed me and flashed your lights or waved, hello again!
I'll upload a pic of my copen tattoo, seriously, at some point too.
However, my visit is not without a request / plea...the turbo charger has gone on my copen and I'm looking to get a replacement for a lot less than the 900 quid I've been quoted. Any advice or recommendations anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,

    Gareth

    Hi Gareth, Welcome to Copenworld.
A Copen tattoo! That must be a first.
For as turbo I'd go for one from here:

Be aware that you would pay import tax on it too. Still cheaper than £900.
I'm sure someone has had one from this supplier, so would know what import tax they paid. I'll have a look for it.

what will the import taxes be on £600? another £120ish? It might save you £150ish. I doubt you are going to save much more unless you know somebody coming back from Japan and space in their poacher's pocket.

I thought I saw a new turbo from Germany, not that I'll need one, but can't recall how much.

Cheers for the info, seems I'm going to have to shell out. As much as I love my copen, it has cost me a fortune in tires, newe exhaust and now a turbo charger.

    Hi onthehunt,

    great tatoo!:)
Not that I am tempted ;) but do let us know more about it.

For turbos you might like to take a look at this collection of links, besides "STK Turbo Technik" which I recommend there are also possible sources in the UK (albeit not verified) worth a try.

    Hello onthehunt,

And wellcome on this wonderfull place :)
    I have, as you have, a 659 version :D
When I see, as some other Copen owners, that you need a new turbo charger :-((, I have a question : do you know the reason you need to replace it  ?
But may be I will have the question on an other topic...
Have a good time on this site, and behind your steering :)wheel
