Yesterday I collected my green Copen from the garage where it was having it's wheels refurbished. I have had the wheels done in the original gold that was on the wheels when I bought the car. My brother hates gold alloy wheels and says that I should have had them painted silver or black, or even buy some after market alloys with the money that I have spent on getting these wheels refurbished. My own opinion is that if I was buying some new alloy wheels I would not go for gold wheels, but as it already had gold wheels and as I'am try to keep it as original as possible I should keep them in the original colour. So do you agree with brothers opinion that gold alloy wheels on cars look naff and I should have change them or my opinion that as they are the original colours for the car (green and gold) that I was right to stick with gold wheels? P.S. Sorry about the spelling mistakes and grammar.
I think that gold wheels on the green copen would look good Are they Minilite wheels? I have them on my pearl white copen in silver
yes I agree, gold with the green is a great combo, or on the blue. Your brother sounds like he wears shell suits. Silver with the green doesn't compliment and black is just lost with a darker green.
Golden Minilites, green Copen and tan leather... That's the best combination that exists...IMHO! Pls keep the Copen as it is! P. S.: Pics would be nice too!
When the sun comes out to play again I will try and take some photos of her, then try and work out how to post them on here.
Gold rims Hi nightjar, I too have a green copen and was in two minds whether to replace the gold wheels, they needed refurbishing. I put new gold ones back on, minilites just like Adams - same supplier and just last week finally got my exhaust heat guard and side skirts on. I am pleased I went with the original spec as I think it looks really good now. Will try and get a few pics posted when and if the wind and rain stops!
Hi 2jags, I will be keen to see your photos! If you do not mind me asking how much did you pay for the refurbishment of your wheels, I payed £250 for mine done and I was wondering if I had got my pricing right.
Hi, I was quoted £60 per wheel, cash in hand so no VAT! But then saw some genuine ones for sale on eBay, so bought the new ones as it was cheaper! Got carried away then with that supplier having the exhaust heat guard and the skirts. It's all Adams fault as he posted the link on here Lol. Think you paid the going rate from all the places around here I got quotes from. Hope that helps
Thank you 2jags. The next jobs is to find and replace the driver side chip fog light and find a new grill as my Copen has a broken one.
Gold rims Hi nightjar, got some photos yesterday in between the rain showers, hope I can post them ok
Wheel photos Having a bit of trouble attaching more than one photo at a time - help someone, need a master class ! Well here goes another attempt
Hi 2Jags. nice Copen looks well, I would like to get a heat shield for my Copen but then it would not be all original, I'am in two minds about keeping it as original or doing so small mods when I have sorted it problems out. I will try and get some photos of mine this weekend as up to now I have been very busy at work at the moment.
