    Hi all,

Any recommendations on where to get a replacement gear stick gaiter for a 1.3?

    Cheers

    Paul on behalf of Horace.

Top gaiters on ebay do a range of different colours of gaiter as well as black with different colour stitching. A lot of us have bought items from them and been pleased with the quality.

Looks like Top Gaiters has vanished from eBay or I certainly can't find them.

Good luck, I hope it works out OK. They even do the sun visor covers that they borrowed someone on here's visor to make a template for so I am pretty sure that it must be the same company. :D

Yes it's the same company (see co details at end of ebay adverts) - worth mentioning that they are flexible in that they'll make up items in different colours if you want (e.g. I wanted an armrest cover in red leather rather than the black leather ones advertised). You just need to send them a nice email to get a quote or some samples to choose from.

I've a YouTube video on how to install the gaiter. You'll need superglue /uhu, as the retaining clips WILL break.

Thanks, I have watched the youtube video in preparation :)

Fitted it tonight and a big improvement over the tatty old gaiter. Whilst giving Horace the once over, I checked boot discovered a small pond over the bung which was quickly removed..... Next job leak hunting and sealing.

I take it the bung prevents exhaust fumes potentially entering the car?

Still it can't leak like the Smart 'sieve' Roadster I used to have. Or that's what I'm telling myself.
