Posted a request about a replacement light unit but no replies (r/h driver side front ) Does the front bumper have to be removed to replace the unit? I plan to remove the cracked lamp and seal the crack from the inside until I can locate a second hand one. I am sure I read somewhere that these unit are just plugged into the bumper and can be removed without removing the bumper. If this not so has anyone out there removed the bumper and can you give me information how to do this. Thanks
Have you downloaded the service manual from this site? I have removed the bumper following these instructions. It's a bit fiddly with the plastic clips, trying not to break them.
Thanks Drewpot for your reply and I have just received a workshop manual on a memory stick which is excellent so I plan to do the sealant repair after removing the light unit. I will take extra care with the plastic clips. I have a friend who lives in Japan and will ask him about new prices and secondhand light units. I was looking at around £100 to buy new but dealer quoted £208. No wonder cars are being scrapped with minor damage to be recycled for spares. As far as downloading from this site I used to be able to look at the workshop manual on line but now I can only find the owners manual. Legal reasons perhaps? Dinko
I can still access the service manuals for both 1.3 and 660cc versions under the resources section. You need to be an active member for at least a week before you can get to them I believe.
