Hi All Took the little copen from Dorset to bonny Scotland and back. 1000 miles. It was good however the dreaded pot holes got me and when I cleaned the copen today I have lost one of the exhaust tail pipes. is it possible to get it replaced in kwik fit or do I need something special. thanks Liz
i had this problem a year ago.. went out and a tip fell off and then the journey back the other one fell off too... i knew one was gonna fall off as i looked underneath... just got a new exhaust
can't comment on exhaust but will comment on kwikfit; they will try and sell you stuff you don't need so don't go there.
Oh I love the national chains, I can't praise them enough. 10/10 in all categories But I must admit, my naked pole dances beforehand does seem to curry favour
I went to a national chain for an exhaust replacement on a renault 5 a few years back. He told me my tyres were illegal which was crap, they were different makes front and rear that's all. On the way from home Bletchley where I bought the exhaust it started to bang against the underside of the car. I stopped to look and found they hadn't replaced the rubber hangers and one had snapped. There was a carrot lying in the gutter beside where I'd stopped and I jammed that between the floor and exhaust as a temporary cure. I wonder if it would passed an mot like that?
Went to kwik fit against all good advice did a pole dance and they said exhaust fine the bit that is in a pothole on the m6 is just decorative. The. Husband thinks good won't cost anything I think oh dear it just doesn't look right with a shiny exhaust pipe missing
Could you buy and fit something like this below? Get two so they match. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/QUALITY-S...Make:Daihatsu|Model:Copen&hash=item4176280a84
Just had a look under my car and the ends are welded on. If the welds have rotted enough for an end to fall off then the rest of the exhaust is probably near the end of its life. Those trims I linked to should fit on the remaining pipe but I'd check the diameter with a vernier or similar to make sure. Forget what I said in last post about buying two trims you won't be able to remove the remaining end. Just buy one that looks close to the existing there are quite a few on ebay.
