    Morning all,

I've got a problem with the copen where when I put my foot down to accelerate on a slip road the car will judder once (feels like i've hit the brake!) and the engine management light flashes up briefly. It then returns to normal and I can't get it to misbehave again. I only have a short ride to work so its only this last point where I get above 30mph up to 50 maybe 60. Has anyone had any similar problems? I had a full service last year and ive only done 3508 miles since. Oil is fine, same for coolant. I'm driving a 659cc 2005.

    Cheers, Lauren

You should be able to pull the stored trouble codes from the ECU. If you get a cheapo ELM327 OBD-II adaptor, you can do this easily enough.

There are two options for an OBD-II adaptor, software or hardware. Software requires a "head unit", like a laptop or mobile phone, whereas the hardware solution includes buttons and a tiny screen to tell you the codes.

I have a feeling it may be a temp misfire on one of the cylinders.
