I was having a lovely drive home this morning; the sun was shining and the top was down. Unfortunately three deer decided to cross the road in front of me, popping out of the forest on the side of the road. The first two got across (which slowed me down) and then a third tried its luck and sadly didn't make it; a local had to come along and shoot it. I'm just thankful I wasn't going much faster, was going perhaps 30 mph.

Indicator/fog light glass is broken while the bonnet and bumper are a bit bent out of shape and the radiator looks to be damaged - but working. :(

    Hi all
A pheasant decided to commit suicide by Copen last week. It only hit the radiator grill so I thought "no broken lights etc, only a cheap bit of plastic" (the grill for my Vauxhall was under £20). When I telephoned the dealer the grill was an eye watering £200 with vat.!! My advice to anyone else who has a similar problem is to pick up all the bits and get out the glue gun.

I'm not sure what kind of deer it was Sardine, but someone did mention it was a female.

I got an independent quote for repair, which would not be up to insurance job standard but would be ok, they quoted £600. So I thought it best to phone the insurance company :) They've now taken her away and left me with some Vauxhall Corsa monstrosity. After two years of driving only the Copen it feels like a truck! A big, slow, wobbly, unstable, did I mention slow, truck. Ahhh but she;ll be as good as new on her return - so it'll be worth it.

That is a hefty amount for a grill cokirpen! I wonder how much they would have charged for the other grill that Daihatsu do - the wire one. Another £100 and you would be paying close to what you would have for an imported carbon fibre one from Japan!

    Hi
Thanks for link. I had considered making my own mesh grill but that chrome one looks the business.
