    Hi,
    I intend to buy a Copen sooner or later;
But there's no so many good opportunities in my area...
Next week I have an appointment to review a Copen for sale from a professional.
    2006 - 130,000km - 1,3l - LHD - 12months warranty
I have carefully read the buyer's guide so that I've started my check list :
    - check for rust within the boot, around the rear wheels arches, underneath, alloy wheels ...
    - check engine
    - check clutch
    - check brakes (pads, disk)
    - check seals (door, windows, roof, ...)
    - check proper operation of electric stuffs : roof ; windows ; and so on...

    Anything I missed ?
Any advice is more than welcome.

    Thank you !

    Based on my recent experience:
    • make sure the seatbelts operate properly (they'll be slow or catch when they retract so a useful negotiating point)
    • check the 4 jacking points (one of mine was crushed)
    • check every light and switch, particularly the heated seats, fan and air conditioning, electric windows (inc quarterlghts)
    • look at the windscreen to make sure there is no damage that would fail your local road worthiness test
    • tell-tale signs of water ingress (damp smell, old water stains)
    • cleanliness of engine bay
    • oil filler cap (look for creamy deposit)
    • front grill is expensive so make sure no damage
Rust is the main enemy though. And make sure it rattles on the test drive - if it doesn't it's a counterfeit:)

Most "rattles" are squeaks from the seals, eliminated by application of rubber preserver/silicon spray :)

I've just done all the seals with the Gummi Pfledge stuff but it looks like I bought a habitual rattler unfortunately and it's difficult to pin them down. I suspect the roof and will try the fix posted on here that involves tightening the nuts when the roof is in a half open configuration. I had a quick look the other day and couldn't quite fathom it but will try again.

Did you get your leak sorted out by the way ?

Hi ! Thank you for sharing your comments. I am not sure understanding what you mean by 'check the 4 jacking points'. English is not my mother language...

Lol, I can understand why that might be misunderstood !

I was referring to the designated areas to lift the car with the "jack" for wheel changes. There is one designated "jacking point" on the underside of the car near each wheel. Section 10.7 of the user manual (in the resources section) has a handy pic.
