Hi Guys, any idea of cost to have my Copen resprayed. I've found a few bubbles on the back arches and would like to get her in Tip Top condition. She is an 05 plate, silver 699cc. Thanks Angie
Depends on where you go, I have had quotes of £1200 for a full respray, I also had a quote for a full vinyl wrap including door shuts and it was the same price, obviously you would need to start with a rust free fully prepared car. Maybe just get the areas that are corroded repaired and resprayed having only the sides done, this should reduce your costs considerably. Good luck
Any luck with this? Mine is silver with red seats and I fancy changing it for a nice cream colour but finding it too expensive!
£1200 for a full respray is very good value. I've been quoted far more. If there's bubbling, that usually means there is rust - take the car to your local panel beaters / crash repair guys, and get an estimate from them. They can weld in new plates to repair the eaten through arches. Also get the side sills checked, mine were rotten to the core and needed replacing.
Hi Angie, Have a look in the forums section and search for one called "keeping the rust worm at bay". Our car had rust issues with rear arches too, we had new panels and a full respray, the body shop details are on there too. Good luck.
Well, Angie, I cannot tell you the cost of a full respray but Neville's being taken away this evening by a very nice man called Sam to have his dents knocked out and one side resprayed. He arrived with me in Nov.2013 bearing some supermarket violence and one or two other scrapes and at last I've saved up about enough in my 'Neville piggy bank' to get the work done. Sam quoted me £400 to deal with the dents and scrapes and respray four panels: rear bumper, rear NS quarter, NS door and front NS quarter. Dropped into another local bodyshop to check this price and they would charge me £450+VAT. I'll post up some 'after' pics next week when he's back from his tlc - hope they match the awkward silver paint right!
Thanks Badger! Well, I reckon Sam's done a pretty good job and seems to have matched the paint perfectly, even on the rear bumper which I know can sometimes not look quite right as it's a different surface to take paint. See what you think: It's great not to have to apologise for his less-than-perfect appearance any more! If things pan out right, you can admire him at KKTIP in September....
Looking good. Looks brand new again. Got a bit of work left on mine untill i get to that stage but will be doing the spray myself. Hopefully it will come out as good as yours did
I totally agree, stickypinkyfinger - it is looking new again. Hope it stays like that for a little while! If yours is silver, matching the colour will be key - apparently silver is tough to get right. Good luck with the project!
Jules - Neville looks great! Rejuvenated in time for some summer fun ( if it stops raining!). Maybe see you at KKITP? That would be great!
